"Twenty-three years ago, Family Man started for two reasons. One was because I felt more at home in being a dad than perhaps anything I had previously done in my life. As a writer, I wanted to speak about my experiences -- the chaos, the absurd humor, the letdowns, and the little victories -- to connect with other parents who might be going through similar things. Family Man started as a column in a regional magazine, then I launched a Web site to create a community and a more interactive opportunity for dads to show how much we've evolved as parents. This new site is intended to share stories from over the years and hear feedback about other parent experiences in whatever form parenting takes."
